This past week we joined the Yellow Ribbon Fund for a spy adventure in DC. The international spy museum has this great little adventure that is totally worth the money. Here's the link so you can learn more. http://www.spymuseum.org/experiences/spy-city
Here's the scoop on how it all works. You go online and reserve your units. (You can wait and swing by and try to get them, but I highly recommend you reserve them online.) You print off your tickets at home and take them in. You get a little "briefing" there and then you sign for your GPS and you are off on your adventure. Yes it is that easy!!
You are sent on a one mile route around downtown DC. Of course I won't go into great detail, because great spies don't reveal their secrets, just know it was a ton of fun. The beautiful day we had that day made the adventure so much better. The age range of the kids involved was 7-17 and of course some adults were thrown in there as well. We had a lovely walk and enjoyed our adventure. We really enjoyed that the places we were sent to were places we had never paid attention to before. We discovered some treasures hidden in DC.
This picture is of my friend helping our daughter with her GPS unit. They were super easy to use and were extremely user friendly and we loved the interactive parts of the adventure. We had little videos to watch and had several messages come in as we were walking.
When you finish your mission, you arrive back at the spy museum and turn the GPS units back into the store. Super simple!! I would suggest you accept this assignment soon while the weather is so perfect. This is a great family activity and honestly you could get one unit per family and fully enjoy this adventure! Happy spying!!!
