Do you need a nice quiet place to retreat? Would you like to not travel very far to find a  little peace in the city? Well I have the place for you.

Wednesday I took a Mommy's Day Off and joined my fellow caregivers at the Hillwood Museum. This immaculate place is definitely a hidden treasure in DC. Hillwood is so peaceful and quiet you would never know it exists. You surely don't know that just two turns away is the hustle and bustle of the big city. It was just amazing.

The Yellow Ribbon Fund put this great day together. We were first treated to a super yummy lunch at the Cafe. Then we were off for our tour of this incredible home.

Ms. Post designed her home to be a museum and she did a fabulous job. She combined her two favorite influences very well in her home. You will see Russian and French pieces every where you step. Her home contains so many fabulous pieces of art and so many treasures. You really need to see this all in person.

We only saw a little bit of the gardens. Her gardens made me miss the gardens at the old Walter Reed. Nature's beauty can bring so much healing. I love that this hidden treasure is tucked away in our Nation's Capitol. You really should find time to visit.

Here's my fellow caregivers and I taking a quick "tour's over-thanks Yellow Ribbon Fund" picture. You can see from the smiles a great day was had by all!! Here's the link so you can plan your visit. http://www.hillwoodmuseum.org/
