I'm back, talking about Veterans' issues in the National Capital area.  It's the day before Christmas and today I'm at the VA Medical Center thinking about all of those Vets in our community who do not have families nearby and, because of the way life has rolled out for them may not even have homes.

As long as there's a VA - the Department of Veterans Affairs - no Veteran is alone.  We are here working 24/7 to be sure Veterans get the benefits they've earned and they deserve.  At this time of year we are especially concerned about homeless Veterans and those who are at risk for homelessness.

If you know a Veteran on the edge of  homelessness, please tell him or her that the VA has services to help them and welcomes them into our circle of care.  On January 12, the DC VA Medical Center at 50 Irving Street, NW will stand down for Veterans.  An array of services will be provided and transportation support will be offered. For more information, visit the DC VA Medical Center's website at www.washingtondc.va.gov or call our Community Resource and Referral Center for Homeless Veterans at 202-636-7660.

Happy Holidays to all!
