Hummmm...ever thought of buying your ABU's for $6.00 a piece...

you can....why pay all that money for a brand new uniform when you can get lighty worn ones (and sometimes even new ones) for far less than the uniform shop price???

It is really amazing what the thrift shop has to offer. At the old Bolling, the new JBAB base the AFOWC Thrift Shop, has prices for uniforms at a HUGE bargain. Just had a young army man come in and not believe the prices he saw - he will be bringing back his "brandy" new purchases to the uniform shop and stocking up on the ones from the thrift shop.

Just as an example here's what you can get...

ABU's (Light Green/Tan)

Top and Bottom (each)          $6.00

Gortex Jacket                      $50.00

Fleece Jacket                       $20.00

How about service dress??

Shirts         $1.00

Pants and Skirts (each) $2.00

Dress Coat   $5.00

Sweater  $3.00

PT Jacket??? How about $10.00?

Uniform Accessories range from 50 cents for any soft rank, patch, metal rank, belt buckle to $2.00 for a garrison hat

Boots too.... they'll only set you back $10.00

This is a great way to save, support the military charities and have the extra to spend on a movie or a nice dinner....

The Fort Myer Thrift Shop also has a good selection of uniforms. I guess Fort Belvior has a thrift shop, but I don't know where it is. Anyone out there know? We also like to donate those worn in the knees, faded pants to organizations like Goodwill or the Salvation Army.

The AFOWC Thrift shop on Bolling has Army, Navy, and Air Force uniforms as well as rank, patches, and all of the accessories.  Come by and check out our big Veteran's Day week long sale.

Alice - I will find out for you - my friend lives on Belvoir - we also take worn uniforms and there is a lady that make Christmas stockings out and ornaments out of the good parts...
