How Has Your Spouse Being a Military Member Impacted You Professionally?

Being a military spouse comes with daily challenges. One of our major roles is to relieve them of as much stress as possible associated with maintaining the home and all that entails thus allowing them to focus on their roles and responsibilities connected with defending both our country and freedoms.

This more often than not means leaving our own jobs and interrupting our career focus to follow them when they are assigned to new locations for the benefit of the governments’ mission. Sometimes we are fortunate enough to transfer directly into another job. Then again, that is not always the case.  Laws have been established by the President and other Federal employee governing agencies for military spouses but unfortunately they do not always eliminate breaks in service which culminate in loss of income or rule out having to accept a position that is not of the same grade or caliber of the one we are leaving.

Your feedback as it relates to your experience with this situation and how you have dealt with it will serve to help someone else that finds themselves faced with a similar position would be appreciated.

Please feel free to submit information requests seeking guidance or resources as well.
